Nintendo is really upping the bar in their newest iteration of the DS handheld console. The Nintendo DSi green is the latest model that sports more features in both software and hardware. With having thousands of games already available, everything seems to be a sweet wait away from its release. Here are some if the coolest green DSi features that can win you over from choosing other handhelds.

One cool feature if the Nintendo DSi console is the photos. With a slight similarity to the Macbooks’ iPhoto, photos can also be stretched and manipulated. There are also many features on photo modifications such as many modes in which you can add funny glasses and other graphics to your photos. Once you are done playing around with your images, you can then send it to a friend and even to a local wireless.

Another cool feature is the download features of the green DSi. With having Wifi and memory slot, Nintendo is now offering games over the internet. Even with other applications that enhance the capabilities of the handheld console can be downloaded from the DSi Store. Nintendo implemented points to purchase games and other software. Most of the time, there are many gems that can be unearthed with just downloading from their site, giving a richer DSi green experience.

Coolest DSi Green Features

Next is the cool addition of music playback. This is the first time that a Nintendo handheld console has support for audio playback. Although it can only play AAC files, it’s a great start and having it as a personal mp3 player is not that bad. Within the player, you can alter the pitch of the audio, include echoes, reverse play, instrumental only and 8-bit tunes. The aforementioned features are lacking on its rival handheld, the Sony PSP.

Another great feature is the Nintendo DSi’s storage. With the addition of an SD storage slot, it can allow more media to be explored. This can help with the downloadable content from the DSi store, store the firmware updates and storage of applications. With the new design adapting to the modern times, you can certainly do more compared to the previous models.

Taking all them into account, Nintendo have been doing their homework. Especially on hearing what their customers’ need, they have been addressed to make sure it’s a fit description of a handheld console true to Nintendo’s tradition. Albeit having lesser computing speed, it certainly offers great features along with great games to play with it; this is Nintendo’s advantage over the competition. With all of the coolest features listed, one thing that doesn’t sound cool is that you still need to wait, but not that long. The Nintendo DSi console will be sold on store shelves outside Japan in April 2-5, 2009.
